With higher education being such a crucial advantage in the workplace, and knowing the competition that comes directly from recent and ambitious college graduates, it is sometimes hard to put your finger on the exact references and materials needed to stay on top of your game. If your degree is in Psychology, or if you are just interested in learning more about the field, The Virtual Advisor will assist you in gaining the knowledge you need to be successful.

The Virtual Advisor (www.per-ce.net/va) provides step-by-step coverage of Exploring Careers in Psychology, Preparing for Graduate School in Psychology, Applying to Graduate Schools in Psychology, Interviewing for Graduate Schools in Psychology, and Putting it All Together. Each module includes ‘podcastable’ segments, interactive exercises, videos, web links, and other resources. The Virtual Advisor helps maximize a student’s chance of gaining admission into the graduate programs of their choice.

Each aspect of The Virtual Advisor experience is powered by the Learn module of Keystone. This module of the Content Management System (CMS) allows management of videos, links and sample files used. It also includes a robust test-creation tool including AJAX question reordering, automated weighted scoring and response archiving.

The Virtual Advisor is authored by Greg Neimeyer Ph.D. and Diane Stevenson Ph.D. and is hosted by PsychoEducational Resources (PER). The online program and resource booklet can be purchased through the SAGE online store.
